Jams
Jams are ideal for breakfast or for afternoon tea, as a topping on yogurt or ice cream, as filling in delicious tarts and as a topping on pancakes with a mediterranean scent. In earlier times, when there were no refrigerators to preserve an entire crop of fruit, the part of the crop that could not be consumed immediately was turnt into jam. Today, use of excess crop is an expression and token of our ecological consciousness. The nutritional value of jams is also important as they constitute a unique source of energy, They contain simple sugars that are absorbed quickly by the body and depending on the fruit, they contain their respective vitamins.
