Step by Step Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the barley-shaped pasta. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan. Place the onion, carrots, celery and cayenne pepper in the saucepan and sauté for 5-6 minutes until they soften. After that, add the barley-shaped pasta and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until translucent .
- Step 2: Finally, mix in the finely chopped tomatoes, salt, a bit of pepper, parsley, cinnamon sticks and about 2 glasses of water. Mix all the ingredients well and cook for 8-10 minutes until the pasta is ready. During the cooking process, make sure you have enough water to prevent the pasta from sticking together. The pasta should be pulpy and not watery or soup like.
- Step 3: Remove the saucepan from the heat, let it cool a bit for 3-4 minutes and serve.
