Step by Step Instructions
  • Step 1: Prepare the meat. Sprinkle it with salt, pepper and then flour it.
  • Step 2: Heat the olive oil well and add the meat. Sauté well until golden brown.
  • Step 3: Add the garlic and sauté for another 2-3 minutes. Pour in the wine and wait 1-2 minutes for the alcohol to evaporate.
  • Step 4: Add the oregano, bay leaves, lemon juice and water until the meat is covered. Let it boil and add the potatoes, after you have seasoned them with salt and pepper.
  • Step 5: Simmer for about an hour until the meat is tender and the potatoes have almost fallen apart.
  • Step 6: Remove the saucepan from the heat and take out the potatoes and bay leaves. Throw the bay leaves away, but put the potatoes in a bowl and mash them, using a fork. Pour in some of the meat's juices to help with the mixing of the mashed, now, potatoes. Your mashed potatoes are ready.
  • Step 7: If you notice plenty of excess liquid in the food, cook at high temperature for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens. Serve the goat in olive oil and oregano together with the mashed potatoes.
