Product Description
A key component of the Mediterranean diet, olive oil, the 'liquid gold' by Homer, is the secret of longevity of Cretans from ancient times until today. This exceptional olive oil, produced by Arodama, comes from hand-picked olives, carefully collected, cold pressed and processed under strict standards, and then brought to your table fresh as the first day it was produced. An ideal way to taste it, during the winter period, is just to be accompanied with rustic bread, preferably made with yeast. Cut thick slices and cook for 1-2 minutes until they begin to turn golden brown on both sides. Serve the bread hot, spreading over 1-2 tablespoons of oil. For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of salt and finely sliced fresh oregano. Moreover, during the summer, you can serve with rustic Greek salad made with fresh tomato, cucumber, green pepper, onion and feta cheese. For a spicier flavor, we recommend Cretan Dakos, baked barley bread, with chopped tomato, Cretan farmer’s or goat cheese ("xinomizithra"), olives and fresh oreganon or crushed capers and fresh basil.

Product History
Extra virgin olive oil is the purest form of oil that comes straight from the olive trees, without having undergone industrial processing. It has a strong fruity taste and the distinct aroma of freshly cut olives. A pleasant bitterness and a short- term burning sensation in the esophagus can be present. With a striking 75% of Greek olive oil production to be extra virgin, Greece holds the first position worldwide in its production. Expressed in oleic acid, Extra Virgin Olive oil is the olive oil whose acidity does not exceed 0.8%. Acidity is one of the main criteria for the olive oil quality and the lower the acidity, the higher the quality.
