Artikelbeschreibung
In summertime, along with the glorious sun of Greece, self-growing caper bushes begin to appear on their favourite soil, on cliffs, rocky soil, and along the coastline of Greece, with the Cyclades island cluster almost monopolizing them. Caper buds and leaves have been used since ancient times both for their beneficial properties and their pharmaceutical ones. Low in calories, they’re rich in antioxidants, calcium, magnesium, and iron. Moreover they have a high content in Vitamins A and C that the body benefits from. Santorini capers grows on the steep Caldera slopes, on the island's stone walls and traditional terraced gardens. It is hand-collected and placed into jars with vinegar, for preservation purposes. The caper’s spirited, tangy flavor is owed to the mustard oil in the caper buds. Once released, the mustard oil intensifies flavor. The delicious taste of capers is showcased only after they have been pickled since the brine they’re packed in is what gives them their characteristic taste. One of the extraordinary jewels of Santorini has finally reached your table!

Product History
Jahrhundert verbreitete.

ML Valsamo

ML Valsamo' was created by a group of friends with common memories and dreams. Having spent all our childhood summers in the Greek countryside, closely tied to our land and the aromas of the Greek earth, we wanted to share what we loved most, through pure products and tastes of our homeland. And so we started our journey. Small local producers, people who love the fruits of Greek nature and know how to harvest and process them with respect as per local traditions, so as to create small gastronomic wonders, became our fellow workers. To be precise, these people became our friends, our family. All of our products are hand picked and we have personally tasted and approved them based on their high quality and uniqueness, constantly researching the market for new delicacies. In Greece we use the word Valsamo to metaphorically describe anything soothing, healing and comforting; a therapeutic remedy for the body and soul. This is exactly what our products achieve. Their discreet flavors act therapeutically, satisfying all of our senses. A valsamo anyone can have in his kitchen and on his table; a small journey of flavors and aromas anyone can relish when opening one of our jars.
