G.E.T.

The bond that Vasilis Aivazoglou and Mary Caropoulou have with olive oil is of long standing: they both come from a family of olive growers who, as early as the previous century, have been growing olives in the most prominent olive growing and olive oil producing regions of Greece. In 2012, they decided that their olive oil deserved its own special name: G.E.T. | Greek Exquisite Tastes. They couldn’t have possibly named it anything else since their olive oil encompasses all the exquisite goodness that the Greek land has to offer. Their next step involved collaboration with a young olive grower whose olive groves lie in Monemvasia, Lakonia, in the region of the Peloponnese. They chose him for his fierce passion for wholesome production through the use of organic methods that are free of chemical pesticides and fertilizers at each and every stage of olive oil production. Respect for nature; devotion to the environment; faith in agricultural practices that abide by natural cultivation methods; processing and standardization that are as thorough as they are stringent: those are the tenets Vasilis and Mary’s products are anchored on so that their products may be literally worthy of the name G.E.T. |Greek Exquisite Tastes.

Visit the region: Fthiotida
Fthiotida

In the prefecture of Fthiotida the visitor encounters a magnificent mountainous nature (high mountains with fir forests, pinewoods, conifers, planes, national parks, gorges, waterfalls, Alpine lakes, plateaux), but also fertile plains, picturesque villages and archaeological sites. There are historical references on the region of Fthiotida in mythology. As indicated from the archaeological discoveries in a lot of settlements, the region has been inhabited since the neolithic period (6000-2800 BC). The location of the prefecture was of strategic importance, as it constituted the passage from Northern to Southern Greece and vice versa. In Fthiotida the first "Amfiktyonia" was founded, a kind of Union of ancient Greek states. Great cities were founded in the region along the centuries, like Lamia, Ipati, Thermopylae and historical battles took place there, such as: the battle of Thermopylae (480 BC), the battle of Spercheios during the Byzantine times (995 AD), the battle of Alamana (1821).
